Home » Supporting The Bereaved – Seminars with Dr Bill Webster
Dr Bill Webster the grief counsellor who is well known for supporting the Bereaved

Bennetts Funeral Directors partners with Dr Webster to present seminars for the bereaved and those who support them.

Bennetts Funeral Directors is honoured to once again welcome Dr Bill Webster, a renowned grief counsellor, author, and international speaker, to share his expertise and insights on coping with loss. With over 40 years of experience, Dr Webster brings a compassionate and practical approach to understanding grief, helping both individuals and professionals navigate the difficult journey of bereavement.

Since 2009, Bennetts Funeral Directors has partnered with Dr Webster to present seminars for both the bereaved and those who support them. His training has also enabled our team to deliver ‘The Grief Journey’ bereavement support programme, which forms the foundation of our ‘New Era’ support groups in Brentwood and Billericay, as well as ‘Our Grieving Hearts’—a group dedicated to parents who have lost a much-loved child.

This March, we invite you to join us for two heartfelt and informative seminars, supporting the bereaved, designed to provide guidance, comfort, and hope to those facing the challenges of grief.

Seminar 1: When Life Changes

Tuesday 18th March 2025, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Registration from 1:45 PM)
Old Brentwoods Sports and Social Club, Ashwells Road, Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood, CM15 9SE.

This seminar is aimed at those who have been bereaved for some time and for employers looking to support colleagues through grief. Losing a loved one, facing a serious illness, or even experiencing job loss can alter our lives in ways we never expected. Dr Webster will explore how grief impacts our world, why our reactions are often misunderstood, and how we can develop meaningful strategies to support ourselves and others through this journey.

Seminar 2: Grief – The Unwelcome Journey

Tuesday 18th March 2025, 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Registration from 7:15 PM)
St John’s Church, Outwood Common Road, Billericay, CM11 2LE.

This session is specifically for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The road through grief is never straightforward, and while many encourage healing, the pain of loss often lingers. Dr Webster will share personal reflections from the loss of his wife and, more recently, his son. He will provide valuable insights into the grieving process, helping attendees understand why grief occurs, how it affects us, and how we can find hope amidst the pain. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and reflect on the journey ahead.

An Understanding Space for Supporting the Bereaved

Both seminars offer a supportive and understanding space for those experiencing loss, as well as for those wishing to help others through bereavement. Refreshments will be provided, and both venues offer easy access and parking.

How to Attend

Booking is not essential, but to help us plan for refreshments, we kindly ask that you let us know if you intend to join us. For more information or to register your interest, please contact us on:
